I had a master who still believed in the academy and this in my opinion determined that none of my characters be mislead by the actual fashionable abstraction concepts.
As a human being, fact of flesh and blood, with desires, sight, smell, touch, hearing, taste and all the other senses alas undiscovered, I stumble over and over upon the temptation of the senses, the irresistible seduction of beauty.
Perhaps with well-worn subjects as is the mythology, I become part of a list of men who have walked upon the earth and have rejoiced wallowing on her.
I consider myself more a sketcher than an artist, with a pencil in hand I can create and erase. I love the fell of the paper and more if on the drawing curly hair seems to dance with the wind.
I wonder if it would be too much to mention that I enjoy mixed techniques, the combination of acrylic, engraving, repouse, ink and all that I may discover in my moments of contemplation.
The purpose of my work is to perhaps make others feel how much I love life and due to this my characters are the idealization of the same, without forgetting that “ideal” is not reality but a platonic whisper.
I believed and respect that “every head is a world” and due to the subjection of taste; if the nudity of my world does not fit in the ideology of another, again as always I shall feel the sun on my skin, feel and gather up the ground with my hands, drink water and look my reflection on it, assuring me that I am of this world, of the world of senses. |
