Ramon N. Naranjo native artist of Southern California, born in Long Beach CA and raised in Michoacan and Guadalajara Jal. Mexico. Talented and multifaceted young artist, for the past 20 years has work as a Fashion Designer for several manufactures in the Los Angeles area and over seas for Import and Export companies. In recent years has ventured into Graphic Design for the garment industry developing new and trendy artwork to be silk screened on tee shirts, denim wear and sleepwear. As a freelance graphic artist has done work for important corporations to develop brand identity, CD artwork covers and poster Adds.
As an artist he has participated in art exhibits, Los Angeles, Tijuana, Baja California and San Diego (photography and paintings). He is such an Advocate for the arts, he has volunteered his time and creativity to the Smithsonian Institute and the Mujeres de Juarez collective, in recent years.
Being raised in Mexico has given him the opportunity to immerse him self in the culture and to maintain a strong bond with his heritage which inspirers him to express his creative nature and think out side the box.
His major inspiration comes from the contemporary works of Orozco, Siqueiros, Tamayo, Rivera, Coronel, Goitia, Herran to mention a few and two very important women Frida Kahlo and Remedios Varos. His vision for future work is to be able to transmit to the spectator an appreciation towards human existence and the connection we share with all living creatures, utilizing colour and textures of his Mexican background to bring forth a new dimension of coexistence in this globalized world.
He believes that Los Angeles has open venues for expression and to be able to capture Spanish and English viewers that also come from other parts of the globe what a great opportunity to share ideas and to have such a receptive community. Where change occurs daily what a treat for the senses.
